Minions Global Artist Collaboration is a project that brings together The Minions Franchise and artists from around the world to create a very unique program. Seven artists were asked to recreate the Minions in their own art style. From there, I was able to gather the various assets from the participating artists and pair them with Minions Franchise 'eyeconic' assets to achieve these patterns for apparel, packaging and retail.
During the logo development, the goal was to showcase the subversive nature of the Minions while also nodding to art making and creativity. In collaborating with seven different artists with very different styles, keeping a cohesive and unified overall brand identity was going to be challenging so we knew the logo needed to be graphic and simple. Keeping graphic minimalism in mind, the below explorations eventually lead us to the final logo design that truly captures the essence of subversive creativity.
